Hi. I messed up my shoulder and my doctor told me to strengthen it with isometric exercises. Ive found a bunch on this site:

http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=A00067

please take a look at it and tell me if i am supposed to exert force when doing these exercises or if i should just calmly do it without any force at all. I’m not sure, but i think i should use force because using no force doesnt give me any pain at all. Also, will this heal the muscle in my shoulder?

I did the frog stance exacly how they said in this site for 6 sets of 10 seconds http://www.dragondoor.com/articler/mode3/229/ and now my elbows hurt.I though isometrics didnt put such a strain on the joints as normal exercises do and i did it on a soft surface.Whats wrong?

Discuss the work done during “isometric exercise,” that is, exercise in which the muscles flexed with no external bodily movement.

I’m trying to learn as much as I can about Isometrics. I’d like several examples of the moves… I’ve gotten some, but I’d like enough to make an entire workout.
Does anybody have any websites or books that show the moves? (preferably for FREE)
Or if you can just describe them to me that would be helpful as well !
Thanks !

^When you place your right hand on your head and pushing against it, would that work the right of left side of your neck? The sides of my neck are uneven, so I don’t want to work the wrong side..

[I'm 13 going on 14 in three months]
I’m at a healthy weight but I’m kinda weak and want to get stronger and lose belly fat [it annoys me] I’m already signing up for a soccer team but before tryouts I wanna do some exercises so I can get stronger and maybe even loose some belly fat along the way?I eat healthy but I don’t eat meat (I’m a lacto-ovo vegetarian) I take one-a-day woman’s vitamin, and I eat alot of things that give me protein like beans, potato skins,and veggie meat(: I already have a plan down and I wanna know if you think it’ll help me? should i add more or am I fine or should I do less?So heres my plan: Upper Body: Overhead Shoulder Press,Chest Press,Bent Knee Push Up,Bicep Curl, and Tricep Extension

Middle Body Exercises

* Sit Up
* Isometric Sit Up
* Side Twist Sit Up
* Front Arm Raise

Lower Body Exercises

* Inner Thigh Lift
* Outer Thigh Lift
* Power Lift Kick
* Squat
Calf Lift
i practice my soccer skills with my friend [who was in soccer and will be in it again with me] and her cousin. [he played soccer almost all his life he's hella good!]
i got the exercise plan off this site: http://www.youngwomenshealth.org/fitness… but i don’t know if I should do everything on their or more or less? please help{:

Attilio W wanted to know:

The pain is in my left shoulder and upper back arm. Have received treatment from GP using deflamatory pills and pain killers which have calmed it down, but still have pain which comes on gradually when driving or sitting upright for any length of time. Although it is a lot better than it was, I find sleeping with two pillows giving support takes pain away completely.
I am sure this was caused by sleeping in a bad position. Will this resolve itself in time as I have had this problem for around 6-7 weeks now? I hope it will eventually cure itself. I am using isometric exercises to strengthen the muscles of my neck.
Any suggestions please
